Brief History and Activities of “Mrittika Shamajik  unnayan sangastha (MSUS).”

“ Mrittika Shamajik  unnayan sangastha (MSUS).” is a voluntary and social welfare organization. Its journey began with the noble aim of serving humanity. On January 14, 2006, a group of friends were sitting at a friend’s shop at Hospital Mor in Kotchandpur. At that moment, an elder brother came and urgently requested two bags of AB+ blood for his wife’s cesarean operation. One of the friends present had AB+ blood, and they immediately took him to the hospital where he donated one bag of blood. This humanitarian act inspired all of them deeply.

Afterwards, the friends discussed whether they could do something regularly for helpless and underprivileged people in society. From this idea, they decided to form an organization to carry out various social welfare activities such as voluntary blood donation, ensuring treatment support for critically ill patients, tree plantation for environmental protection, anti-drug campaigns, prevention of child marriage, prevention of violence against women and children, and suicide awareness programs.

By unanimous decision, a 31-member organization was formed, and each member agreed to contribute 200 taka monthly. As a continuation of this initiative, an application was submitted to the Kotchandpur Upazila Social Services Office in January 2007. In February 2007, the organization received official registration from the Department of Social Services under the name “Mrittika Social Development Organization” with registration number Jhinaidah-615/07.

Since its establishment, the organization has been carrying out various social and humanitarian activities. The organization also receives annual government grants from the Department of Social Services for its activities.

The members of the organization feel proud when the Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah District, District Social Services Officer, Upazila Executive Officer of Kotchandpur, Social Services Officer, and the Mayor of Kotchandpur Municipality invite them to various social development meetings. In those meetings, they are given the opportunity to share their opinions and suggestions for the welfare and development of underprivileged people in society.

In addition, “ Mrittika Shamajik  unnayan sangastha (MSUS).” has many future plans aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged people and contributing to the overall development of the country’s social system.

Main Objective of the Organization:

To create opportunities for the poor people of Bangladesh to take organized initiatives and actively participate in development activities through increasing their awareness for their socio-economic development.
